Author Biography
Christoffer Andersson of Stockholm, Sweden, is working as Senior Specialst and Manager
of Special projects withing the area of Terminals & Applications 2G/3G for Ericsson.
In that position he is responsible for technical issues on a strategic level within the
area and operate across all parts of the organization. In 2000 he was based in San
Francisco, California, as Head of Technology for the Mobile Applications Initiative
(former GPRS Applications Alliance). In that role, he managed 40+ Ericsson people
worldwide that were helping developers to optimize their applications for the wireless
systems of today and tomorrow. Working as a technical expert of 3G wireless applications,
he earlier initiated the process of how to test if an application is suited for GPRS and
other systems, by using the world leading wireless emulator. During 1999 and 2000 he has
been working with giants like Microsoft, IBM and Oracle as well as Silicon Valley
start-ups in helping these companies migrate into the Mobile Internet. Christoffer earlier
worked for Ericsson in Sweden, designing both software and radio network algorithms for 3G
wireless systems. He currently holds multiple patents, and is frequent writer for various
publications in this area. His book, 'GPRS and 3G Wireless Applications, The Professional
Developer's Guide', will be published by John Wiley & Sons, May 2001.
