Project Details:
1. UMTS location services and Protocols in 3G Cellular Networks
Work involves contributions to Requirements, System Specification as per 3GPP and OMA standards, Design, Development, Lab testing, Field Trial at T-Mobile Engineering Division for developing A-GPS (Wireless Assisted GPS) protocol for UMTS (Universal Mobile Terrestrial System) Radio Access Network (RAN). Design and Development of New location technologies based on 3GPP and OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) standards. Design specifications and Development of A-GPS protocol for E911 services. Feasibility study of A-GPS based on Control Plane and User Plane (SUPL) architectures. Traffic evaluation and Performance Modeling of A-GPS. Design and Implementation of flavors of 3G to 2G Inter System handover for Emergency Location Services. Worked closely on A-GPS UMTS handset requirements and testing with respect to protocol conformance and minimal performance.
2. Server based RRLP/IS-801/3G based Location Services in the Wireless Networks (GSM/CDMA)
Design of RRLP (Radio Resource Location Protocol) messages from Location Server to the Location Client for SiRF Product development. Designed and implemented interfaces for system involving Client /Server for Location Based Services. Design of Interface Controls between the various modules in the Client Server based Location technology Architecture. Implemented Network based and mobile based Location services on RRLP. Involvement in developing new protocols/technologies for location services: Coarse location technology. Design of a Location server capable of handling multiple Location protocols (RRLP/IS801/RRC). Modeling, Simulation and Performance of End to End Client Server based Location Systems. SNMP agent design and development on Location Server
3. IS 801 call flow Testing using the Call Flow Tester, CFT
Call flow testing of IS 801, a GPS standard. Worked on Call flow Tester a TclTk based tool to automate and execute the IS 801 call flows. CFT is designed to execute and test both the positive and negative test cases.
Wrote test plans, designed test cases and executed the test scripts
Wrote TclTk based test scripts which are used by CFT to Test the PDE, the Position Determination Equipment.
Wrote TclTk Test script templates for the PDE Harmonized IS-801 Call flows, tested and executed positive and negative test cases using CFT with different configurations and settings
Team size: 2, Duration 3 months, Client: SnapTrack Engineering a Qualcomm company, 675, Campbell Technology Park, Campbell, CA 95008
4. Network Management (SNMP & GDMO) in Base Station Wireless system & OMC for the Corporate GSM Network, which is an integration of GSM, PABX and IP using Voice over IP technology
The Corporate GSM system is a multi-service SM/IP based wireless access technology, using the H.323 protocol, developed to provide high capacity voice and multimedia services for corporate users. Operating in the standard GSM frequency bands. The Corporate GSM system implements a wireless access system, using a GSM air interface, that interfaces into IP-based network infrastructure components, providing voice, fax, packet data and network management services.
The work contribution involves SNMP, GDMO standards, CMIP and Q3 Mediation between Base Station Network and OMC-R, writing Management Information Base (MIB) and implementing features (GPRS) in to the OAM&P system of the Base Station Network. Design and Implementation of Configuration Management, State Management, Database Management, Software Management, Event reporting and Alignment Procedures for the CGSM. Part of the team in successfully launching the system for two major customer trial releases and participated in design and implementation of features Mo |
