E-911 UPDATE
Grayson Wireless announced that Triton PCS has signed an agreement to purchase Grayson's Geometrixr wireless 911 caller location systems for installation in the Triton PCS wireless network. Grayson location systems will be installed in markets selected by Triton PCS in response to requests for precise 911 caller location information. The network-based Geometrix systems are compatible with Triton PCS' TDMA (digital) network technology and existing customer handsets. Triton PCS will install the Geometrix systems to comply with the Federal Communication Commission's Phase II E911 regulations. The Grayson system automatically locates and forwards the caller position information to public safety agencies that receive 911 calls. The Geometrix caller location systems Grayson will supply to Triton PCS are upgradeable to be compatible with GSM/GPRS networks and handsets. Under the terms of the contract, Triton will have the option to purchase such upgrades to accommodate its future requirements.

SiRF Technology, Inc. has enetered into an alliance with Motorola (NYSE:MOT) in which Motorola will integrate SiRF's global positioning system (GPS) technology into its iDEN(R) family of digital wireless phones to location-enable the devices and meet the requirements for the FCC's Enhanced E911 (E911) mandate. The agreement also calls for cooperation on future products and technologies. SiRF's GPS technology enables Motorola to upgrade the iDEN platform for the provision of Phase II E911 services by iDEN providers. By making these location-capable handsets
available to their subscribers, iDEN providers will have the ability to locate wireless callers in compliance with the FCC's Phase II E911 rules. Motorola's iDEN Subscriber Group will implement SiRF's SiRFstarII(R) architecture and SiRFLoc(TM)-based high sensitivity technology, which is optimized for location acquisition in low signal environments, thereby improving GPS enabled location capability.
