Palm OS Programming With Satellite Forms (cont.)
Final Thoughts
Without writing a single line of code, we were able to create an application that would take days with other Palm development tools. Unfortunately, not everything is perfect with Satellite Forms. For one, there are two versions of Satellite Forms: a Standard and an Enterprise Edition. The standard edition is runtime free and is priced at a price of $795, while the enterprise edition only has 10 runtime licenses included with the $995 purchase. Another area that could improve is support for using the Palm OS emulator instead of needing to download to a device after a change. Puma Technologies has a suggested workaround, but having to set up multiple serial ports and a null modem cable seems ridiculous to me.

Overall, it is an excellent tool, but is very expensive. Depending on your needs, it may be the correct choice for you. The Puma Technologies web site (http://www.pumatech.com) has both the standard and enterprise editions in the form of a trial version download. If you're interested in Satellite Forms, you should definitely take the trial for a spin.
