Ericsson Gateway/Proxy - Ericsson's WAP Gateway/Proxy connects the mobile world with the Internet world as a node in the GSM network. GWAP - GWAP(Generic WAP),comes to solve
some of WAP's major interoperability issues.
GWAP is a server that comes to solve the problem of making one
application work with so many different devices with different
browsers, functions, memory, screen and much more.
GWAP includes GENI (Generic input) and GENO (Generic output) and is aimed to be able to read data (from any source like HTML or XML for example)and output it optimally to all type of devices. GENO recognizes the calling device and its browser and dynamically produces the optimal WML code for the specific device. (based on the device unique properties
and features). It allows the application to optimally use all functions of the calling device rather then going for the lowest common denominator to suite all devices.
When a new device comes to the market,GWAP is updated with its properties,so the written application doesn't need to be modified.
GWAP currently has JAVA and ASP interfaces.
