About AVIDWireless
AVIDWireless helps enterprises benefit
from advances in computer and communication technology. Our products and
services give companies the tools they need to quickly create wireless
applications and solutions that are device/network independent. In other
words, we have perfected wireless application development, bottled it and
we serve it to our customers on a silver tray.
A dedicated team of professionals
with expertise in computer telephony integration, wireless data, software
development tools and enterprise information systems keeps AVIDWireless
on the cutting edge of technology. AVIDWireless was formed from its parent
company, VoiceDataWare in December 1998, to meet the challenge of utilizing
the convergence of wireless, computers and telephony. With the release
of AVIDRapidTools, AVIDWireless has achieved that goal and has blazed a
trail for others to follow.
AVIDWireless also offers services
ranging from the basics of helping enterprises determine the best way to
leverage the wireless vehicle, to melding different aspects of technology
to custom fit the most complex system.
Rodney C. Montrose, President
Rod Montrose has held a variety of
executive, technical, project management, sales and marketing positions
in small, medium and large corporations. In 1998, he founded
VoiceDataWare Inc as a company to develop and sell advanced telecommunication
based products and services. In 1999 introduced the AVIDWireless division
focusing on wireless data applications.
Previously, he was Director of Product
Development at IntellAgent Control Corporation, producing a Lotus Notes
based Customer Relationship Management software package. Prior to that,
he was with Project Technology, a company providing object-oriented methods,
tools and consulting services to real-time software developers in telecommunications,
medical, and instruments products. Rod was integral in growing the
company from 9 to over 50 employees (1991 to 1995), development of the
Shlaer-Mellor Method, teaching and consulting with the Method, developing
marketing programs, selling key customer accounts (Motorola, Tellabs, Lockheed,
Ericsson), opening their Dallas office and managing their consulting and
sales force.
Before joining Project Technology,
he served for five years as Manager of Systems Engineering for North America
at Cadre Technologies, a real-time software tool vendor. Earlier in his
career, Rod was employed with Motorola Inc. in their Toronto, Canada and
Fort Worth, Texas plants with both management and technical responsibilities.
Rod started his involvement with
wireless communications at an early age (he was one of Canada’s first amateur
radio operators under 16 years of age). At Motorola, he continued
his passion and was involved in early data communications projects, which
he says, were not too different from what is available today except the
devices were hundreds of times larger in size, weight and cost.
Rod believes the growth of WAP/i-mode
phones will come from corporate information systems, not consumer or commerce
applications. These applications will employ data, voice and video
to effectively communicate needed information as best suited to each mode.
