Wysdom and Blueair Networks Manage Supply Chain From Wireless Devices

Boston, MA - April 11th, 2001 - Wysdom Inc., a wireless software and
infrastructure company, today announced that it will partner with Blueair
Networks, Inc., a software development company that uses wireless and
peer-to-peer technologies to solve supply chain execution problems. As part
of the deal, Wysdom's MultiCarrier Mobyle Gateway (MCMG), based on its
Mobyle Application Platform (MAP) will be used to help Blueair create
wireless peer networks that are "always on" giving managers a way to solve
supply chain problems such as sourcing hard-to-find parts in real-time from
wireless devices.
Using Wysdom's MCMG, a single messaging hub that delivers messages to the
majority of PCS and pager users in North America and worldwide, Blueair will
be able to create these "go-anywhere" networks. These networks will give
co-workers and business associates live, 'always-on' access to internal
corporate data stores such as ERP and CSM systems, and external data stores
such as e-marketplaces and information portals.
The wireless peer networks created through this partnership will help solve
supply chain execution issues, including difficulty sharing information
effectively and maintaining visibility and integration between a company,
its suppliers, customers and business partners. In a typical scenario, a
transnational manufacturing company would use its private wireless peer
network to facilitate balancing the supply of critical materials across
borders and time zones.
"When a material shortage threatens on-time shipping, time is of the
essence," said Horne. "The Blueair Networks-Wysdom partnership will enable
the procurement professionals to share and act on real-time information
about critical material availability to solve the shortage problems before
they affect production."
"Wysdom and Blueair are using wireless technology to address the need for
real-time information and connectivity when managing a supply chain," said
Kashif Hassan, co-founder and CEO of Wysdom. "The reality is that
"always-on" connectivity is becoming a necessity in some business verticals
and wireless peer-to-peer networks provide the beginning of an answer."
"Traditional supply chain management has been held back by a legacy of
centralized data storage and the corresponding inability to access real-time
information," said Martin Horne, CEO of Blueair Networks, Inc. "Wysdom's
MAP is helping us bring full supply chain collaboration."
