FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 11, 2001--APA Wireless Technologies, a Cenetec technology accelerator company, today announced it has completed the research, development, and commercial production phases for its next-generation YRO(TM) radio frequency (RF) technology. The company is now accepting firm purchase orders with delivery dates for its new YRO-based "supermodules."

APA Wireless has filed a series of U.S. and foreign patents relating to the hardware, software and system aspects of the proprietary technology. The new digital YRO technology dramatically improves the reliability, speed and economy of broadband fixed wireless communications. It provides a lower-cost, easily mass-produced microwave frequency source that is an alternative to current RF technologies.

Andy Goddard, APA president said, "This new generation of RF technology is designed for today's advanced communications systems. It reflects the strong intellectual property that is key to the Company's long-term value and that will help APA Wireless maintain its dominant position in this expanding market. "

APA Wireless moved the product to market while in the Cenetec technology accelerator program. Cenetec President Scott Adams said, "APA Wireless' technology gives broadband fixed wireless providers a high performance, first to market digital alternative for the crucial RF components that power LMDS and MMDS systems. We're pleased Cenetec could play a role in speeding this technology to market."

The YRO, (YIG Replacement Oscillator), also has applications in advanced testing, radar and other commercial and military uses. It overcomes many of the limitations of current generation RF components, which utilize the rare earth material yttrium iron garnet (YIG) to mechanically synthesize and control radio waves.

APA Wireless' YRO technology is provided as a single module or in custom turnkey solutions utilizing the company's vertically integrated capabilities, from engineering through automated production.

APA Wireless Technologies is a single-source developer and manufacturer of high performance components for the broadband fixed wireless market, and a Cenetec technology accelerator company. Its family of vertically integrated companies began with Marlo Electronics in 1966, and serves an impressive roster of Fortune 100 clients.

Industry leaders rely on the APA Wireless Technologies companies for mission-critical components in telecommunications, avionics, medical technology and military applications. These range from communications systems and pagers to heart pacemakers and F-18 fighter jets.

The company is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and more information can be obtained by calling 954 565-4839 or by visiting the website at www.apawireless.com.
