SCHAUMBURG, Ill. and AUSTIN, Tex., April 11, 2001 - Motorola (NYSE:MOT) today announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with AGEA(tm) that calls for AGEA to develop a suite of business applications for Motorola's recently announced Java(tm) technology-enabled handsets for iDENŽ networks. These handsets, including the Motorola i85s and i50sx models, incorporate Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(tm)) technology, allowing users to download and run multiple business applications such as those developed by AGEA.

The suite of applications developed by AGEA will enable users to remotely access documents from enterprise computers using Motorola's Java technology-enabled handsets. With these applications, business users can wirelessly access their corporate and personal data; create, edit and send text files; access network servers behind corporate firewalls; send files via e-mail and fax; access and edit word processing documents and spreadsheets; remotely enter expense reports; send secure and real-time notifications and messaging alerts to individuals and workgroups, and store their favorite Internet bookmarks.

"As workforces become increasingly mobile, Motorola is delivering solutions to help businesses be more productive," said Bill Werner, corporate vice president of Motorola and general manager of the company's iDEN Subscriber Group. "These applications from AGEA can allow users to effectively communicate and efficiently conduct business, regardless of their location."

"With AGEA's suite of business applications, mobile professionals can receive alerts, read e-mail and manage, edit and send documents such as spreadsheets and expense reports with a single, handheld device," said Andres Carvallo, chairman and chief executive officer of AGEA. "We are 100% focused on J2ME technology applications, and we are excited about Motorola's new Java enabled phones."

These models will be available beginning this month through iDEN network operators including Nextel Communications, Southern LINC, and Pacific Wireless Technologies in the United States. TELUS Mobility in Canada will offer the i85s handset in the coming months.
