Lineo and Trolltech Expand Embedded Linux Partnership

SAN FRANCISCO, Embedded Systems Conference-- Lineo(TM) Inc. and Trolltech AS today announced the expansion of the companies' current partnership to provide a comprehensive embedded Linux solution.

The terms of the new agreement involve a new degree of cooperation between these two embedded Linux companies. Trolltech will ensure that its Qt/Embedded application framework integrates seamlessly into Lineo's Embedix(TM) software development kit. In return, Lineo will resell and provide professional services for Qt/Embedded.

"This is a logical move for both companies," says Trolltech CEO Haavard Nord. "We have been working together for some time, and we recognize that this step makes sense for our shared customers, given the growing demand for this kind of embedded Linux solution."

Last August, Trolltech became a certified partner with Lineo's Partner Connect program, including certification with Lineo's Embedix family of products.

Lineo(TM) Embedix(TM) SDK is a powerful development environment for configuring, customizing and deploying Linux embedded software solutions on a variety of processors including X86, PowerPC, ARM, MIPS, SuperH and several others. Qt/Embedded provides developers with the tools they need to create stunning graphical user interfaces for embedded applications.
