Top industry executive Ann Wettersten, who is leading the wireless efforts of Sun Microsystems, Inc., will be a keynote
speaker at the WAVE 2001 (Wireless Alliances and Vision Exchange) conference presented by Cingular Wireless at the Alladin
Resort in Las Vegas, May 14-16.
Wettersten, Sun's Vice President, Wireless Business Group, will speak on Wednesday, May 16. She will discuss the impact
of compelling, smart services on the wireless market and strategies for developers and service providers who want to excel in
this rapidly growing space. Sun has led the industry to standardize interfaces for location, context, content, and convenience in
the end-to-end wireless architecture, and Wettersten's keynote will emphasize the role of open standards like Java(TM)
technology, XML, and IP in enabling this innovation.
Wettersten will be a part of a high-powered roster of keynote speakers at WAVE 2001, including high-tech visionaries Guy
