Cingular Wireless Brings the Internet to North & South Florida

Personalized Information, Shopping and E-mail Now Available Through
Wireless Internet Service
Making it easier for people to get relevant information while "on the go," Cingular Wireless today introduced
Wireless Internet service and the "My Wireless Window" portal that enables customers to access on-demand,
personalized information, including shopping and e-mail, through their wireless phones.
This introduction represents a significant and meaningful step in the convergence of Internet and wireless
communications for the individual," said Cingular Vice President and General Manager, South Florida, Rich
Guidotti. "People are looking for new and simple ways to communicate with others and receive valuable
information without being tied to their computers. Cingular Wireless is pleased to offer advanced solutions to meet
these needs."
Cingular Wireless Internet uses WAP technology (Wireless Application Protocol), which enables wireless
devices to transform into Internet portals that deliver streamlined, graphic-free content, tailored to the smaller
display screens of wireless phones - empowering people with information "on the fly." Using the My Wireless
Window portal on their wireless phone or their desktop PC, customers can:
Personalize the information they access on their phones
Send and receive emails with their own "@mycingular.com" email
address or using an existing email address that is compatible
Send instant messages to other wireless devices in real time
Receive automatic alerts with the latest information on
stocks, sports, weather, news, lottery, horoscopes and more
Shop online safely through the phone or desktop PC using their
stored credit card information
Get directions while on the road
Access Yellow Pages and White Pages information including
local or national entertainment
Create a calendar and address book to access "on the go"
Use a desktop toolbar to help manage and personalize their
information
"With My Wireless Window and Wireless Internet, customers can access valuable information whenever they
want it - without any of the clutter and confusion commonly associated with other wireless services," said Rich
Guidotti. "Everyone can benefit from it - especially people who regularly use the Internet, check email often, work
out of the office at times, and need immediate access to news or information."
Wireless Internet can be added to customers' rate plans starting at $6.99 per month. The web minutes used are
billed as regular airtime with normal rates applying for minutes used outside of package.
Customers need a compatible digital handset to access the Wireless Internet and can activate Wireless Internet
service at select Cingular stores and by calling customer service at 1-866-CINGULAR. For more information,
