Masterpiece Technology Group Licensed by Orion
CINCINNATI, April 26, 2001--Masterpiece Technology Group, Inc. (OTCBB:MPTG) today announced
they have been awarded an exclusive distribution license by the Orion Telecomm Operating Corporation (OTOC) to launch their new
integrated wireless communication system for healthcare to the US and Canadian medical market. OTOC has developed a broad
band, high speed Wireless Healthcare Information System for terrestrial or terrestrial satellite systems, known as WHIS.
The WHIS wireless communication system is capable of providing wireless connection speeds in excess of 36 Mbps. In
comparison to other internet connections, it's 643 times faster than current top of the line 56 Kbps modems, 281 times faster than
ISDN, 141 times faster than DSL (at 256 Kbps), and 32 times faster than cable modems (at 1,000 Kbps). In addition to being very
fast, the terrestrial range of transmission from a single tower is a very impressive 75 miles as compared to a current cell phone range of
only 5 miles. Ranges for the WHIS terrestrial satellite system are effectively unlimited.
The Information Superhighway (internet) has been heralded as a means of dramatically improving patient care. However, the simple
fact is that until there is a significant breakthrough in transmitting broad band signals, benefits for healthcare services will not materialize.
WHIS has provided that breakthrough. Wireless technology, once dismissed by the telecommunications industry as undependable, has
been greatly improved and may now be considered as the communications method choice for hospitals and physicians to use across
the country.
The WHIS technology will now allow hospitals and physicians to communicate instantly. Critical medical records, x-rays, MRI's,
CAT scans, pharmacy, laboratory and other life saving information will be available to the physician the moment it is needed.
Equally important to speed and access of medical information is security in light of pending Federal Regulations on protection of
patient medical records (HIPAA). The WHIS system contains the highest level of encryption security available today and complies
with all the new Federal Regulations concerning patient medical records.
Orion Telecomm Operating Corporation (OTOC) is a partnership of telecommunications professionals and established private and
public companies organized to develop and provide a suite of service offerings and products for medical as well as the general
businesses community. Included in the OTOC group of companies are Technology Depot (a telecommunications company) and
Money Phone (a Korean manufacture of PDA's and telephone equipment).
Masterpiece Technology Group, Inc. (OTCBB:MPTG), an Ohio-based computer company, manufactures and distributes software
products for physician medical records, claims management, medical audit services and the Healthcare Compliance Program. The
Company's medical records product, Masterpiece EMR, provides an information software package that collects and stores data
during the creation of the patient narrative. MTG's homepage can be found at www.masterpiecetechgroup.com
