SAN DIEGO, April 30, 2001--QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world
leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced it has signed non-binding
memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with wireless service provider ALLTEL and Korean device manufacturer Telson

signed such MOUs indicating interest in QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless(TM) (BREW(TM))

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to work with ALLTEL and Telson in providing the consumer with an entirely new and
improved wireless Internet experience," said Peggy Johnson, senior vice president of QUALCOMM and general manager of
QUALCOMM Internet Services. "The excitement about the BREW platform is building for carriers, manufacturers, and
especially developers, as we move closer to our BREW 2001 developers conference and the commercial release of the BREW
