PLANO, Texas, May 10, 2001--Enfora, Inc., the wireless data solutions
company, has joined Microsoft Corp. in an 11 U.S. city Mobile Experience Tour.
During the tour Enfora will be providing hands-on demonstrations of their PocketSpider and
Spider II wireless products. The PocketSpider is a modem designed for Pocket PC operating
systems and Palm devices. It gives mobile users access to a variety of information, including
enterprise data, stock quotes, email, directions, traffic conditions and airline information. The Spider
II is a wireless data modem that gives mobile professionals remote access to mission critical files
and applications stored on their enterprise networks. The tour features a 45-foot rolling Mobile
Theatre, which houses the latest server, wireless and device technology and gives visitors a
complete overview of mobile computing.
"Microsoft's Mobile Experience Tour is yet another example of how Microsoft is leading the
wireless explosion and taking an active role in helping senior executives and IT professionals deploy
mobile technology, as well as in educating mobile professionals of the variety of wireless products
available to simplify their jobs and lives," said Greg Yates, Enfora's senior vice president of sales
and marketing.
"Enfora's wireless modems are an important part of our tour, because they enable Pocket PC
users to perform wireless e-commerce and information gathering functions virtually anywhere,
anytime. Enfora's CDPD-based products also offer global positioning capabilities, in addition to
other powerful wireless applications," said Phil Holden, director of marketing for the Mobile
Devices Division at Microsoft. "The tour will demonstrate how we are working with Enfora and
other wireless partners to create solutions that enable mobile professionals to maximize their
productivity."
Microsoft's Mobile Theatre will be rolling into 11 key cities around the United States, including
Seattle, San Jose, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington
DC, Boston and New York, from May 3rd through July 1st. The Mobile Theatre will make a
5-day stop in Dallas -- from May 23rd through May 27th.
