HILLSBORO, Ore. - etrieve, Inc., provider of real-time voice and text access to office information from any phone, won the Wireless Services Category in PC Magazine's first "Innovation in Infrastructure" awards program announced Tuesday at the NetWorld+Interop networking event in Las Vegas.

In a prepared statement PC Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Michael J. Miller said, "these are the most interesting infrastructure products we've seen all year." etrieve prevailed in the Wireless Services Category because its mobile office solution exemplified the best and most advanced of today's network infrastructure technologies. In addition, the publication said, "(etrieve) has attracted some powerful partners and we expect that we'll never be beyond the reach of our e-mail."

etrieve's mobile office solution offers real-time voice and text access to corporate email, calendar and contact information from any phone. etrieve connects seamlessly and securely with existing corporate office information to offer the ability to listen and/or view email, calendar and contact information and reply by voice or text, send new messages, prioritize incoming messages, listen to attachments or print attached documents to a nearby fax, and synchronize etrieve activity with the desktop.

"This award is a strong affirmation that we are on the right track with our vision to build mobile office solutions that are easy to use, easy to implement and cost effective for today's mobile workforce," said Mike Maerz, chairman and CEO for etrieve, Inc.

Compared with other mobile office offerings, the etrieve solution delivers true mobility with both voice and text access and international access capabilities. In addition, etrieve is offered in the form factor that 110 million U.S. wireless subscribers have grown accustomed to - their existing cell phone using their own voice. The etrieve mobile office solution is also cost effective as it does not require the purchase of a new device.

For the IT manager, etrieve's solution is secure and easy to implement and maintain. etrieve features SSL encryption, two-level password protection and secure archiving protocols. The server software integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure and can be installed and maintained from a central location for server management and end-user account set up. Since etrieve is an application service provider, there's no need to worry about hardware upgrades or maintenance.

"etrieve helps me stay more connected and organized," said Mike Skiens, assistant vice president of marketing for The Standard Insurance Company, an etrieve corporate customer. "The opportunity for increasing personal and professional productivity is so great with etrieve."

Other recent honors for etrieve, Inc. include "Best of Show" at the Yankee Group's Mobile.Net Conference in December 2000, inclusion in Computerworld's "100 Emerging Companies to Watch in 2001" and M-business Magazine's "Most Promising Newborns" list.

etrieve, Inc. is focused on making the mobile phone the practical extension to the office. With etrieve, mobile business professionals can manage their office email, calendar and contacts by voice, by text and by importance - all from the phone they already have. Founded in 1998, etrieve combines the reach of wireless technology, its Wireless Interchange Engine and robust text-to-speech technology to keep mobile business professionals connected with their critical office information. Headquartered in Hillsboro, Ore., etrieve is a privately held corporation funded by Ignition Corporation, Softbank Venture Capital, Madrona Venture Group, Timberline Ventures and Venture Partners.
