APTOS, Calif., May 23, 2001--
Company's Bluetooth Antenna One of Six Finalists for Best Bluetooth Component at the Bluetooth(TM) Congress 2001
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced that Rangestar Wireless is one of six finalists for the Best Bluetooth
Component (hardware or software) category in the Bluetooth Congress Awards. The awards recognize exceptional innovation and
achievement in Bluetooth products and services. The Bluetooth Congress 2001, June 5-8 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, expects to draw a
cross section of influential Bluetooth players from more than 39 countries.
Bluetooth is a new, international specification for wireless communication. To address the growing availability of Bluetooth products,
the Bluetooth Congress Awards feature an expanded number of categories this year. A ceremony announcing the Bluetooth Congress
Awards winners will precede the Bluetooth Congress 2001 on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 6:30 p.m.
Rangestar's P/N 100930 embedded antenna, designed specifically for use in Bluetooth applications, is the product identified in the
nomination. At only 6 mm tall and 16 mm in diameter, the 100930 is one of the highest performing embedded Bluetooth antennas
available.
Rangestar's fellow nominees include Broadcom, CSR, Digianswer, Ericsson, Technology Licensing, Impulsesoft and Parthus
Technologies. Nominees for Best Bluetooth Component (hardware or software) must demonstrate that their component excels in
functionality, reliability, diversity of application, market appeal, compatibility, form factor and use of technology.
"The nomination from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group validates the tremendous strides that our embedded antennas have made
in the Bluetooth marketplace," said John Harris, president and CEO of Rangestar Wireless. "Our patented embedded antenna
technology and full service integrations continue to offer the Bluetooth adopters high-performance, low-cost RF solutions."
Winners are selected through a two-stage judging process. The Nominations Panel, which met at the end of March, compiled a
shortlist of nominees from which the Judging Panel will select a winner. The Nominations Panel and the Judging Panel consist of
independent individuals, such as journalists, analysts, representatives of industry bodies and academics.
Rangestar Wireless is a global leader in the development and integration of embedded antennas for the wireless communications
markets. Founded in 1995, the company is recognized for its innovative, high-performance embedded antenna solutions, conceived by
a world-renowned staff of antenna design engineers. Rangestar is headquartered at 9565 Soquel Dr., Aptos, CA 95003, USA.
