TORONTO & SAN JOSE, Calif., May 24, 2001--After an extensive testing and development cycle,
OceanLake(TM) Commerce Inc. (CDNX: OLI) is proud to announce Version 1.2 of the mScope(C) wireless enabling engine - a
high-performance content transcoder that enables OceanLake clients to rapidly deploy a device-agnostic web site.
mScope continues to excel at transforming dynamic websites for presentation on a multitude of devices including Palm Pilots,
BlackBerry pagers, WAP phones, and countless others. New in this release is the ability to transform a site's graphical content on the
fly to the proper format for the mobile device in use, allowing for greater usability of the customer's web site. The ability to transcode
elements such as icons, product designs and schematics will facilitate the faster introduction and growth of mobile commerce
applications for the wireless web.
The modular architecture of mScope enables OceanLake to push updates of the software to clients when new devices are released
into the market, making for a seamless upgrade path.
"mScope continues to evolve as a cutting edge solution for our clients," said Steve Koskie, President and CEO of OceanLake
Commerce Inc. "Our potential customers are overwhelmed by the fact that we can literally walk into their offices and present them
their entire web site on any device - a demonstration that only OceanLake can currently perform."
OceanLake plans to work with its tier-one partners to increase the global penetration of mScope, especially through increased sales
in the U.S.
Founded in 1999, OceanLake Commerce Inc. develops scalable internet-enabling software solutions for web enterprises, service
providers, and carriers. OceanLake's leading-edge mScope(C) product enables an organization's existing internet content and
applications to be available through any wireless or traditional web device. mScope is engineered as a "drop-in" product that
seamlessly integrates into existing hardware and operating systems for fast, easy and cost-effective deployment. mScope is the only
"drop-in" and platform-agnostic product currently available in this marketplace. OceanLake is focused on providing the connectivity of
mScope to four cornerstone mobile markets: m-Banking and Trading, m-Commerce, m-Productivity, and m-Entertainment.
OceanLake's current client list includes Rogers Media Inc., SunLife Financial, Homebank Technologies Inc., and the Charlotte
Chamber of Commerce. The company is based in Toronto, ON and San Jose, CA, and is currently expanding into Europe.
