URL(s): agentGo

AUSTIN, Texas--Jan. 17, 2001--agentGO(tm), a mobile decision support solutions provider, today announced eight wireless enterprise applications written for the Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(tm)).

J2ME allows for the development and deployment of Java applications on any Java enabled wireless device, and allows mobile users to run applications with or without connectivity. agentGO's J2ME applications will run on the Motorola iDEN 3000 telephone, RIM pagers and Palm OS products.

agentGO's eight J2ME applications, MobileDASH(tm), agentFILE(tm), agentDOC(tm), agentSHEET(tm), agentTEXT(tm), agentALERT(tm), agentEXPENSE(tm), and agentBOOKMARK(tm) are all part of the agentOFFICE(tm) and Naked Apps(tm) product suites, which enable mobile workers to effectively communicate and "do work" via their wireless device while away from the office.

-- MobileDASH -- the first mobile enterprise portal allows employees to access all their corporate and personal data from any device, any location, at any time. -- agentTEXT -- allows mobile workers to create, edit, and send notes or text files. -- agentFILE -- allows wireless devices to access a network server behind a corporate firewall and allows the mobile user to send files via email and fax. -- agentDOC -- allows mobile workers to access and interact with Microsoft Word documents. agentDOC versions supporting Sun OpenOffice and StarOffice are being built for release late first quarter. -- agentSHEET -- allows mobile workers to access and interact with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. agentSHEET versions supporting Sun OpenOffice and StarOffice are being built for release late first quarter. -- agentALERT -- offers secure and real-time one-way or two-way notification and messaging alerts to mobile individuals and workgroups. -- agentEXPENSE - enables the remote entry of expense reports and integrates with popular expense reporting software. -- agentBOOKMARK - allows mobile users to store and access their favorite wireless URLs.

"agentGO is committed to developing and delivering on the best new technologies," said Andres Carvallo, chairman and chief executive officer of agentGO. "J2ME is the future of wireless applications for enterprise and agentGO is proud to be one of the leaders in the J2ME initiative. In addition to the current suite of applications, all future applications from agentGO will be written in J2ME."
