Microwave Transmission Systems, Inc. Announced Acquisition of Hardware Manufacturer and Construction of New Assembly and Training Center
RICHARDSON, Texas, July 5, 2001--Microwave Transmission Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:
"MWVT") the leading provider of communication tower construction and maintenance services, today announced the purchase
of the assets of Redin Welding, Inc. Redin Welding is a manufacturer of mounting hardware for the wireless tower industry.
Preston David Spurlin, MTSI's President and CEO, stated, "The acquisition of Redin Welding fits perfectly into MTSI's
long-term growth strategy. We will continue to pursue our three-pronged strategy to grow through acquisitions, provide
innovative solutions and grow with our customers. This transaction will give MTSI additional test and assembly capacity and
cost reduction benefits that support our goal of improving overall gross margins. As a result of this transaction, MTSI will
become one of Redin's largest customers and we look forward to continuing their tradition of high quality manufacturing and
superior customer service."
Under terms of the transaction, MTSI will acquire all of Redin Welding manufacturing assets for cash. In conjunction with the
asset purchase, MTSI acquired 72 acres of land in Melissa, Texas and has begun construction on a 10,000 square foot
building. The new building will house MTSI's assembly facility, training center and product warehousing and distribution center.
