Pure Matrix Unveils JaZMin; Software Platform Gives Wireless Users Freedom to Create Individualized Services for Wireless Devices
BOULDER, Colo, July 9, 2001--Pure Matrix, Inc., the company providing the software
platform that enables end-users to quickly design unique information services for any wireless device, today
announced beta availability of its JaZMin platform. Using the creative workspace of the platform, wireless
carriers can give their customers the ability to design individual services that are immediately available and
easily accessible on the mobile device.
Pure Matrix provides modular building blocks, which users can link together to create hundreds of
combinations of information and services, drawn from networks, databases and other resources.
For example, a salesperson can create an application that upon entering a company's name or stock symbol,
gets an updated stock price, breaking news concerning the company, directions to their office, any traffic
incidents on the route and any open CRM issues -- all delivered to his mobile phone. The salesperson can run
the application for each meeting receiving the information he wants, delivered to him, when, where and how
he defined it.
"It's not just about accessing information on your mobile device," said Dave McGlade, Pure Matrix board
chairman. "It's about being able to link information to other functions, to create an application that is unique
and indispensable to the individual user."
Another example is an application, which notifies a patient shortly before her prescription is due to run
out, prompting her to request a refill. If the patient selects "yes" on her wireless device, then the refill
request is forwarded to her physician for authorization and on to the pharmacy. The patient can choose to be
automatically notified when the refill is ready to be picked up. Such an application automates a series of
time-sensitive, but time-consuming tasks, and improves relations between the patient, doctor and health plan.
The ability for a carrier to offer uniquely customizable applications to their customers translates into a
significant competitive edge. From an existing application that has been "turbo-charged" by Pure Matrix, the
wireless user is able to receive information that has been customized for his/her unique needs. This will
ultimately translate into increased customer usage and retention. These value-added services also allow the
carrier to leverage existing networks as well as generate new revenue streams.
Pure Matrix allows wireless carriers to present a user-friendly creation space where any of their
customers can design meaningful applications that are uniquely adapted to his/her needs. The applications are
immediately operational on any wireless device and are created by selecting and combining information
building blocks. The building blocks are constructed by Pure Matrix. The newly created applications become
live online without disrupting the carrier's existing network and services. By allowing users to create
applications that evolve with their changing needs, Pure Matrix helps wireless carriers generate new revenue
streams and satisfy customers by providing real value-added services. For more information about Pure
