SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA, July 9, 2001 - Moving to place its wireless Web technology in front of millions of cellular phone users around the world, Vizario, Inc. (OTCBB: VZRO) (www.vizario.com) today announced that it will soon introduce a version of its Vizario(tm) wireless Web solution for the Nokia 9200 Communicator Series of integrated cellular phone/PDA devices. According to Vizario, Inc. President, Jim Newcomb, the company first plans to offer a solution for the Nokia 9210 European market Communicator this Fall, with a version for the Nokia 9290 Americas model following during the first half of 2002, coincident with the product's American market roll-out.
"Nokia is the world's leading provider of wireless mobile communications devices," Newcomb said today, "and their cell phones are the most popular, with over 35% of the estimated 400 million phones per year worldwide market. By working with Symbian, creators of the operating system incorporated into the Nokia Communicator Series, we have developed an incredibly user-friendly server-client solution that will make the wireless Web much more functional for millions of business and consumer users. What's more, because Vizario features a graphic interface designed to use icons that minimize typing, it leverages the Communicator's high-resolution color display."
According to Newcomb, Vizario, Inc. plans to market its Nokia solution to both cellular phone system operators, as well as to individual users, beginning in the fourth quarter of this year.
Scheduled for delivery in the Americas during the first half of 2002, the Nokia 9290 Communicator combines a vivid, active-matrix color screen with the Symbian operating system (Crystal category), bringing rich interaction and easy expansion to your mobile office. Incorporating the ability to send and receive images, sound, and video clips, the Nokia 9290 Communicator provides users with full-color access to office and entertainment applications while on the move. A fully integrated mobile terminal combining phone, fax, e-mail, calendar, and imaging, the Nokia 9290 Communicator offers Internet access via WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and HTML-based WWW browser. Support for PC applications, including editing of Windows Word and Excel documents and viewing of PowerPoint documents, is built in. Nokia's first product in the Americas to include PersonalJava, the Nokia 9290 Communicator allows for an enormous number of software solutions. SyncML support, which is included with the product, facilitates seamless synchronization of contact, calendar and to-do information across SyncML-enabled PCs, PDAs, mobile phones, and other devices.
