TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2001--Diversinet Corp. (Nasdaq:DVNT), a leading provider of wireless security infrastructure solutions, has granted a WTLS
server root certificate license to Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM)(TSE:RIM.), a world leader in the
mobile communications market.
RIM intends to embed Diversinet's WTLS server root certificate into future software releases for the provision of
public-key infrastructure (PKI) and trust services using BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds(TM). Diversinet's root certificate

Diversinet's security and server authentication solutions to enterprises and content providers supporting WAP services on
BlackBerry handhelds. Diversinet and RIM will also engage in joint marketing activities.
"Diversinet continues to execute its strategy of being the leader in securing transactions and messages for wireless
handhelds," said Ed Karthaus, Vice President of North American Sales for Diversinet. "This agreement is important in
extending our reach in the WAP server certificate market and in providing additional security solutions for BlackBerry
users."
"RIM's commitment to developing advanced solutions with end-to-end security has made BlackBerry Wireless
Handhelds(TM) popular among government organizations and corporations that have strict security requirements," said
David Yach, Vice President of Software at Research In Motion. "Diversinet's root keys help address the requirement of
the WAP WTLS specification and enable third party developers to easily create mobile applications that require secure
