Edify to Integrate SpeechWorks OpenSpeech Recognizer With Edify vCSR

(Nasdaq: SPWX), a global leader in network-based speech recognition and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies and services, today announced that Edify is integrating OpenSpeech(TM) Recognizer 1.0, SpeechWorks' next-generation, speech recognition engine, into the Edify Voice vCSR(TM) (virtual Customer Service Representative) product line.

OpenSpeech Recognizer is an open, standards-based recognition engine, optimized for VoiceXML that sets a new standard for scalability, performance, and accuracy in wireless environments. OpenSpeech Recognizer understands more than one million words, well above the industry standard of 80,000 to 100,000 words today. In addition, new "endpointing" technology is specifically designed to increase accuracy in wireless environments. OpenSpeech Recognizer features an open architecture providing for fast and easy integration into the Edify Voice vCSR product line.
