MORGAN HILL, Calif, Aug. 8, 2001--AirSpeak, Inc., a wireless mobile products company providing innovative mobile solutions
and data access software for the corporate enterprise, today announced an alliance with WAV(TM), a value added distributor (VAD) of wireless data collection
equipment. As part of the agreement, AirSpeak's award-winning flagship product FLAIR(TM) joins WAV's current wireless LAN and mobile computing
products from top manufacturers such as Avaya, Chameleon RF, Fujitsu, Inducomp, Maxrad, Monarch, PSC, Spectralink, Symbol, Unitech and Zebra.
FLAIR is a lightweight mobile pad that allows users to see and instantly access their entire desktop PC from remote locations. Also called a PCA (personal
computer access), FLAIR increases worker efficiency by allowing users to instantly and easily access their information with the touch of a button from anywhere
within a wired office. Communicating with a user's desktop PC using AirSpeak's proprietary software, FLAIRView, FLAIR is a secure wireless device that
delivers the universality of the PC into the palm of a user's hand.
"Instant access and real time information are becoming increasingly important to the enterprise," said Sam Williams, co-founder and CEO, AirSpeak, Inc.
"Working with WAV's excellent customer service and impressive clientele, we are able to bring a solutions-oriented approach to businesses looking to increase
worker efficiency and productivity using wireless technologies."
"Our customers have come to expect the latest and greatest computing products," said Norm Dumbroff, president, WAV. "AirSpeak's FLAIR is a perfect
addition to our IT family and an innovative way to add value to the wireless network."
A recent study by Frost & Sullivan reported that the enterprise wireless communications market is expected to grow from $217.2 million in 2000 to $557.9
million by 2007. In today's market, businesses need to stay one step ahead of the competition so more and more businesses are turning to mobile devices to help
their employees be more productive and efficient during the work day. AirSpeak's FLAIR is tapping the near mobile marketplace, encompassing workers who
spend up to three hours a day away from their primary computer station collaborating with colleagues in meetings, addressing needs on shop floors, handling
inventory, or executing numerous other work priorities that take them away from their desks. FLAIR gives those employees instant access to their information,
saving companies millions of dollars a year in workplace inefficiencies.
AirSpeak Inc. provides innovative mobile solutions and data access software for the corporate enterprise. Based in Silicon Valley, AirSpeak is focused on
serving the untapped near mobile marketplace. By delivering single solution wireless products, AirSpeak is helping companies be more profitable by providing
employees with complete access to their PC remotely in an easy, safe, and efficient manner. For more information, go to www.airspeak.com.
