WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association
(CTIA) today announced its eight special interest pavilions that will be on
display at WIRELESS I.T. & INTERNET 2001. Five of the pavilions will focus
on specific technology, while the remaining three are organized by
geography. The pavilions include the Bluetooth Pavilion, the Fixed
Broadband Pavilion, Developer's Alley, the Solutions Now Pavilion, the
Federal Wireless User's Forum Pavilion, the Wireless Innovations Finland
Pavilion, the Korean Pavilion and the T Sector San Diego Pavilion.
"CTIA's WIRELESS I.T. & INTERNET 2001 has always provided an enormous range
of products and services to our attendees," said Tom Wheeler, President and
CEO of CTIA. "Our venue has doubled in size since our last WIRELESS I.T. &
INTERNET show, so we've organized some of the industry's best innovations
into special interest pavilions, allowing attendees to find all of their
wireless solutions in one comprehensive space."
Bluetooth: Exhibitors in this pavilion will be displaying the newest and
hottest products that allow communication between components wirelessly.
Cables are becoming a thing of the past; come experience a revolution in
communication without wires.
Fixed Broadband: Come see the technology that is leaving DSL and
conventional dial-up modems in the dust. See the latest way to maximize your
communication capabilities without having to worry about the number of users
on your system or relying on a slow connection speed. By utilizing a single
cell structure, fixed wireless broadband technology maximizes the bandwidth
capacity facilitating efficient, rapid transfer of data.
Developer's Alley: The Wireless Developer Alley is hosted by the Wireless
Developer Network (www.wirelessdevnet.com) the premier on-line community
for information technology professionals interested in mobile computing and
wireless communications. This year's Alley will consist of leading wireless
technology companies offering solutions and services for voice applications,
location based services, mobile java, and wireless data applications.
Solutions Now: This area is for WIRELESS I.T. & INTERNET 2001 participants
who have enterprise solutions that are available TODAY (or within the next 6
months). It will be easy, one-stop shopping of hot solutions. There will
also be an exclusive demo area for pavilion participants to show-off their
innovations.
Federal Wireless User's Forum Pavilion: Visit the FWUF Pavilion to see
wireless services and solutions targeting the commercial wireless solutions
and requirements of the federal government.
Finland: See cutting edge wireless applications and solutions from leading
Finnish companies. Finland is a global leader in wireless telecommunications
and its unique development environment has spawned a growing number of
technology startups that are seeking international partnerships.
Korea: Visit the Korean Pavilion showcasing the latest technological
advances from Korea and meet with companies manufacturing quality products
with distribution worldwide making them critical players in the wireless
space.
San Diego: The T Sector's San Diego Pavilion is a showcase of the wireless
technology in San Diego. With over 500 telecom companies employing 25,000
high tech professionals here, San Diego has fast become one of the hottest
telecom regions in the country. And with a magazine, The T Sector, focused
solely on the high tech industry in San Diego, companies have a unique
opportunity to come together to learn and grow like nowhere else. The San
Diego Pavilion is just a small sample of what San Diego telecom has to
offer.
CTIA's WIRELESS I.T. & INTERNET 2001 is the largest wireless Internet and
mobile data show in the world. This year, it will take place at the San
Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, from September 11-13. For
