TORONTO, Aug 24, 2001 - AirIQ Inc., a wireless application service provider specializing in mobile asset management solutions, announced today that Thrifty Canada, Ltd. has selected the AirIQ solution to protect and manage its high-value vehicles.

Thrifty Canada, Ltd. is based in Toronto, Ontario and is one of the largest daily vehicle rental companies in Canada. The agreement will see AirIQ's vehicle location and management solution installed in Thrifty's corporately owned Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler LHS, Chrysler 300M and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles, which are among the most valuable in its fleet. Installations are underway in the Toronto and Montreal markets.

"Thrifty recognized that it needs a powerful tool to protect its valuable vehicle assets, while ensuring the highest level of customer service," said Donald E. Simmonds, President and CEO of AirIQ. "We are delighted that Thrifty has selected the AirIQ solution to provide them with crucial information to more effectively manage their high-value vehicles."

AirIQ develops and markets a technologically advanced location information service for the efficient management of mobile assets. The solution is used today in a variety of vehicle fleet enterprises including commercial transport fleets, the service industry and rental vehicles. AirIQ's broad suite of services includes vehicle location, boundary notification and automated inventory, all features selected by Thrifty.

"As a rental company, our assets are always on the move," said Bill McNeice, Executive Vice President of Thrifty Canada, Ltd. "Losses are a fact of life in this industry, so the ability to protect and more effectively manage our assets is paramount. With AirIQ, we can significantly reduce our vehicle losses, which will help us continue to maintain our value position within the industry."
