SureWave Sync Engine Now Included in SureWave(TM) Mobile Server v2.1

DALLAS, Sept. 10 -- JP Mobile, a pioneer in mobile server enterprise computing, today announced the latest version of its SureWave(TM) Mobile Server.

The SureWave Mobile Server, already deployed by service providers to deliver award-winning wireless e-mail and corporate applications to their business customers, is now available for enterprises to use when developing their wireless application, device and deployment strategies. The newest release of the SureWave Mobile Server incorporates the latest industry standards and updated functionality to improve the end user experience and increase workforce productivity.

With this release, JP Mobile is the first company in the mobile server space to incorporate server and device-side synchronization based on SyncML, an open standard for the universal synchronization of data between devices. In addition, support for J2EE, a standard that simplifies application development in a thin client multi-tiered environment, enables enterprises to securely extend applications to devices regardless of whether the end user is connected to the corporate server. This will allow users to make modifications with either a RIM or Palm OS device and have those changes automatically updated at the user's other devices and the corporate server, greatly reducing application management complexities. The SureWave Sync Engine also will allow a client-side database to be carried on devices for offline browsing and will work with virtually any application.

For example, a salesperson using a device managed by the SureWave Mobile Server could have a notification sent directly to his device as soon as new information hits his corporate server, without having to ask for it. This background synching gives the user peace of mind since there is no need to continually try to retrieve information the corporate server has not yet received.

"The release of SureWave Mobile Server 2.1 is the latest evolution in the product lifecycle of the rapidly maturing enterprise mobile server market," said Ananth Rao, JP Mobile's EVP/CTO. "JP Mobile's long experience in extending business applications like e-mail to wireless devices has allowed us to develop a mobile server platform for enterprises that increases productivity and results in an appealing return on investment as they evolve their mobile workforce strategies."

The SureWave Mobile Server is built on technology that JP Mobile originally developed for the New York Stock Exchange and provides the highest standards of reliability and security. The mobile server market, which evolved from JP Mobile's pioneering work with the NYSE, continues to grow as companies begin to wirelessly enable their entire enterprise systems and applications.

"Enterprises are looking for ways to get critical data into the hands of mobile personnel. The mobile server has a great chance to succeed as the primary means to accomplish this. The defining characteristics of vendors who will emerge as market leaders will be the ones with a solid track record and a proven ability to execute," said Scott Heinlein, an industry consultant with TeleChoice.

The SureWave Mobile Server includes:
-- Enterprise Services: MS Exchange Adapter, Lotus Notes Adapter, IMAP4 Adapter
-- Core Services: SureWave Sync Engine, Intelligent Notification Engine, Subscriber Management, Encryption/Compression, System Management
-- Mobile Services: Mobitex/Cingular Gateway, Optimized IP Gateway, TME/X Gateway, GPRS Gateway, WAP Gateway, PQA Gateway

In addition, JP Mobile ensures security by placing its own Palm Query Application (PQA) and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) gateways behind a company's firewall.
