Jacada Announces General Availability of the Jacada Interface Server 7.0

URL(s): Jacada

ATLANTA--Sept. 10, 2001--Jacada Ltd. (NASDAQ: JCDA), the leading provider of enterprise user interface solutions, today announced the general availability of the Jacada Interface Server 7.0, the first fully integrated user interface development and deployment environment.

The Jacada Interface Server provides a common user interface layer for both new application development and existing legacy systems and protects organizations from changes in user interface standards and technologies.

The Jacada Interface Server represents a significant milestone in Jacada's evolution. Building upon previous Jacada product offerings, the Jacada Interface Server insulates organizations from the inflated IT costs associated with the constant re-tooling required as interface standards and technologies change. The new offering enables true separation of the user interface layer from the business logic layer, and generates multiple interface types or languages based on user and device requirements. All interface generation and deployment is accomplished by using a single development tool and a single deployment server.

The Jacada Interface Server 7.0 includes the following enhancements to the Jacada development and deployment environment:

-- XML Interface Generation - In addition to Java, Visual Basic, and HTML interface generation capabilities, the Jacada Interface Server now offers an XML interface that enables seamless and open integration of existing business logic with any third party application.
-- Support for New Application Development - The Jacada Interface Server now supports interface development for new applications written in COBOL and RPG. These new development capabilities are currently available as `early release' and will be generally available in Q4 2001.
-- Browser-based Host Reporting Capabilities - The Jacada Interface Server now employs XML to offer revolutionary advances in the realm of host printing and reporting. Using a standard Internet browser, enterprise users can view, manipulate, and print host data locally.
-- Improved Access to External Data Sources - The Jacada Interface Server now provides built-in support for server-side integration using both JDBC and XML.
-- Foreign Language Support - The Jacada Interface Server now supports multiple foreign languages from the same user interface design. Developers can now use the Jacada Interface Server to generate user interfaces for global deployment in a cost-effective and easily maintained manner.
-- Support for Native Mainframe Deployment - The Jacada Interface Server now supports native deployment on the OS/390 platform, allowing organizations to fully leverage their mainframe hardware investment as they continue to enhance core enterprise applications.

"The Jacada Interface Server offers numerous strategic alternatives to organizations as they attempt to transition to modern computing paradigms," states Rob Morris, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Jacada. "Using the Jacada Interface Server, these organizations can continue to extend existing systems and build new enterprise applications while rapidly adopting changing interface technologies or standards. For the first time, organizations have the ability to effectively separate the presentation layer from the business logic layer, thus enabling unprecedented architectural agility."

Pricing for the Jacada Interface Server 7.0 depends on individual configurations. Pricing starts at $4,500 per Interface Developer Kit and $30,000 per CPU (server) for deployment.
