PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 1 - DevX, a leading provider of
information and services for the corporate IT development community, today
announced the launch of the .NET Zone (), a
comprehensive source of information, tools and solutions for developers
working with .NET and Web services. Featuring step-by-step tutorials,
articles, and instantly applicable tips, tools and code, the .NET Zone will
provide developers with the technical information they need to make a smooth
transition to the .NET framework and to become competitive in this brand new
area of development.
"The .NET Zone will help application developers understand the
technological advantages of the .NET platform and give them the information
necessary to begin incorporating it into their work immediately," said Peter
Horan, CEO of DevX. "The creation of this new zone demonstrates our
commitment to providing developers with the crucial information and
cutting-edge tools they need to deepen their knowledge of .NET. The zone
gives developers a single destination where they can get all of the
information they need to migrate their existing applications to the new
technology and leverage the .NET framework."
Among its features, the .NET Zone will give users access to:
* Original technical articles and commentary by the DevX editorial team
as well as relevant content from Visual Studio Magazine
* An active .NET development community, where readers exchange hundreds
of posts daily on technical issues and ideological concerns about the
new platform
* A bimonthly .NET Update newsletter that helps keep readers up-to-date
with the rapid changes in .NET technologies
* .NET Spotlight, an editorial review of a third-party .NET resource
recommended by editors and readers
* .NET supported third-party tools and components available for
purchase and download
Rational Software is a premier sponsor of the zone and tapped DevX to
develop the recently launched Rational .NET Portal, a separate site that
provides in-depth information on their new line of products that support .NET.
This is the latest of several collaborations DevX has launched to speed
adoption of new technology products and serve the critical resource needs of
developers. Previous DevX sites were instrumental in the launch and beta
testing of products such as the Intel Itanium processor, IBM database product
DB2, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Whistler.
