METAmessage for Wireless(TM) Offers the Only Complete Email Attachment Solution for the Microsoft Information Server (MIS)
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 2-- Onset Technology announced today that its METAmessage for Wireless(TM) is the only message-conversion product for Microsoft's MIS/Outlook Mobile Access solution that notifies users of email attachments and delivers essential features -- such as reading and printing attachments-- to mobile email users. The company, a Microsoft Mobile Solutions Partner, made the announcement at the MEC 2001 show being held here in the Orlando Convention Center, September 30 through October 4, 2001.
Onset's METAmessage for Wireless lets MIS users read email attachments by converting the attachment file into a text or image file. This file then appears as a WML card that is accessed through a link in the body of the email message. The product lets users print attachments by converting the attachment into a .tif file and sending it to any conveniently located fax machine -- the number for which is entered by the user. The METAmessage for Wireless solution featuring MIS support is now available as part of Onset's METAmessage Conversion Server -- Enterprise Edition and METAmessage Conversion Server-- Carrier Edition offerings.

Onset Solutions Provide Message-Conversion for Variety of Environments Onset addresses a full range of individual and corporate users' needs with its family of METAmessage for Wireless solutions that include: METAmessage.com a simple, cost-effective, Internet-based ASP solution for workgroups and individuals; the METAmessage Conversion Server -- Enterprise Edition, a highly scalable solution intended for corporations worldwide for whom "behind-the-firewall" security is especially important; and the METAmessage Conversion Server -- Carrier Edition for server-farm-based environments such as telcos, ASPs and ISPs.
The METAmessage for Wireless offerings support all of the industry's popular file formats -- more than 28 in total -- giving users the ability to read or print Word files, Excel spreadsheets, Web pages from URL links, Outlook calendar and contact information files (.vcf and .ics), among other capabilities. The METAmessage.com solution allows users to receive faxes and the METAmessage Conversion Server -- Enterprise and -- Carrier editions offer global address list (GAL) lookup. All of Onset's METAmessage solutions support a variety of handheld devices including the BlackBerry wireless handheld device.
