PacketVideo Announces Support for the Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 Platform

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4, 2001--PacketVideo Corp., the recognized leader in advanced
technologies for wireless multimedia communications, today announced that its standards-compliant PVPlayer(TM)
decoding software will support the new Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 platform.
PVPlayer, one component of PacketVideo's PVPlatform(TM) end-to-end wireless multimedia solution, decodes rich
digital media for viewing on mobile information devices. PVPlayer is designed to support multiple platforms, including
Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002, and is capable of decoding digital media delivered over any wireless data network.
PacketVideo's PVPlayer has been operating on the Pocket PC platform for two years and has already shipped with more
than one million Pocket PC devices. PacketVideo's technology enables wireless phones, PDAs and laptops to send and
receive both live and pre-recorded rich multimedia, including one- and two-way video, high-quality audio, animation and
graphics.

PacketVideo's technology can be utilized over a variety of networks, such as today's 802.11 wireless Local Area
Networks (LANs); cellular networks, such as CDMA and GPRS; Personal Area Networks (PAN), like Bluetooth; and
other future generation mobile networks.
