PeopleSoft Extends Universal Access to Pure Internet Applications Through New Microsoft PDA Software

PLEASANTON, Calif., Oct. 4, 2001--PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) today announced that PeopleSoft Mobile Agent will run on the Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002, Microsoft's next generation of software for personal digital assistants (PDAs). The PeopleSoft Mobile Agent is the enterprise application industry's first pure internet solution for disconnected access. Through this industry leading solution, PeopleSoft customers will have universal access to enterprise applications using Pocket PC 2002.

PeopleSoft Mobile Agent represents a technology breakthrough that will leapfrog legacy client/server solutions for enterprise mobile applications. The PeopleSoft Mobile Agent enables disconnected access, allowing users to access pure internet applications on Windows-Powered laptops and PDAs even when not directly connected to a network. Based on HTML, HTTP, and XML, this new technology extends the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture to mobile professionals, enabling users to work offline, then synchronize data quickly and easily from any location.
