Toshiba Pocket PC e570: New PDA With Enterprise-Level Functionality

Building upon its leadership in developing innovative technology for the mobile user, the Computer Systems Group (CSG)
of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (TAIS), today introduces the sleek Toshiba Pocket PC e570. A highly
functional PDA, the Pocket PC e570 delivers wireless capabilities, increased expandability and features the new Microsoft
Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 operating software, all in an ultralight device that fits easily in a shirt pocket.
Maximizing performance for the growing enterprise PDA marketplace, the Toshiba Pocket PC e570 features
simultaneous use of dual integrated expansion slots for increased storage and connectivity. With the Secure Digital (SD)
expansion slot, users will soon enjoy the benefits of wireless connectivity with an optional Bluetooth(TM) SD module,
allowing quick exchange of information with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as notebook PCs. For increased storage
capacity, customers can take advantage of up to 128MB of additional memory (via optional Toshiba SD memory card) for
large documents, presentations and multimedia files. Providing the mobile user with additional flexibility, a CompactFlash II
expansion slot offers a suite of productivity add-on devices such as Global Positioning System, bar code reader for inventory
management, Wi-Fi (802.11b) and V.90 56K modem for browsing the Internet and checking e-mail.

Feature-Rich Handheld with Multimedia Functionality
In addition to wireless connectivity and a suite of expansion capabilities, the versatile Toshiba Pocket PC e570 is the ideal
portable business tool for the enterprise customer. Integrated with Microsoft Windows Media Player 8, users can enjoy their
favorite MP3 files through a rich, stereo sound system, ideal during a cross-country flight. Additionally, customers can enjoy
viewing video files, presentations and e-mail on the crisp, vibrant, 64K color display of the Pocket PC e570 that features
sharp backlighting for easy readability indoors and outdoors. Other multimedia features include digital voice recording,
microphone and stereo headphone jack.
Integrating its core technology strength, the Pocket PC e570 marks the debut of Toshiba's revolutionary Advanced
Lithium-ion power technology, a micro-thin lightweight battery delivering up to eight hours of battery life for the user.
Weighing less than one-half pound and providing an ample power supply, Pocket PC e570 customers can now enjoy
portable multimedia all in the palm of their hand - anytime, anywhere.
Enhanced Productivity with Enterprise Applications
The Toshiba Pocket PC e570 comes pre-installed with Microsoft Corp.'s new Pocket PC 2002 operating system,
featuring a host of applications ideal for the enterprise user such as Virtual Private Network client access to protect sensitive
data and e-mail communication through remote access. Additionally, mobile professionals can utilize Terminal Services
Client to remotely access business applications on its company's server. Productivity applications include Microsoft Pocket
Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger and Microsoft Reader 2.0. To meet the needs of the enterprise
user, the Toshiba Pocket PC e570 can also be customized with pre-loaded factory applications.

Powering the Toshiba Pocket PC e570 is the Intel(R) StrongARM processor. At 206MHz, Intel StrongARM is a
high-performance processor designed to maximize power and performance for running the most demanding productivity and
multimedia applications, quickly and efficiently.

Pricing, Warranty and Availability
The Toshiba Pocket PC e570 is competitively priced at $569 with a one year parts and labor warranty and will be
available initially to corporate enterprise customers as well as educational and government sector customers in November
