ORLANDO, Florida – October 9, 2001 — AirZip™, Inc., the world’s
first web image acceleration company, announced today that has been
selected to demonstrate its AirZip Image Accelerator™ product in the
Emerging Technology Pavilion of the Gartner Symposium/IT Expo 2001,
taking place this week in Orlando, Florida. AirZip Image Accelerator is
the first product to specifically accelerate image-intensive web
applications over narrowband network connections, including dial-up and
wireless.
Participants in Gartner’s Emerging Technologies Pavilion, the
centerpiece of the exhibit portion of Gartner’s flagship conference, are
cutting-edge companies demonstrating areas of technology that Gartner
feels will be critical in growing e-business to its full potential and
that represent the beginning of major trends or discontinuities.
AirZip Image Accelerator overcomes the limited bandwidth of
networks, allowing service providers and enterprises to make powerful
image-intensive web applications instantly available to work-at-home
employees, security personnel, sales people, field technicians and other
mobile users. It is the cornerstone of AirZip’s technology vision of
making broadband web applications for narrowband users a reality.
“AirZip is thrilled at this opportunity to present its
groundbreaking technology at the industry’s leading IT conference,” said
Lee Bauman, chairman and CEO of AirZip. “Gartner’s reputation as the
first and last word on IT trends attracts the true IT decision makers
and influencers, an audience whose understanding of our capabilities is
critical.”
"The Emerging Technologies Pavilion provides attendees with an
insight into technologies and capabilities that will have a major impact
on the future of business processes, work patterns and social
interactions," said Jackie Fenn, Gartner vice president and research
fellow. "An early appreciation of these trends will help guide IT
planners in investment and architectural decisions."
