Onyx Mobile CRM Solutions To Provide Support for Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 Software
BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 10, 2001--
Combination of the technologies will enhance enterprise-wide mobile
CRM functionality
Onyx(R) Software Corporation (Nasdaq:ONXS), a global supplier of customer relationship management (CRM) enterprise
applications, announced today that it will support the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 platform with its suite of mobile CRM solutions.
Onyx plans to extend the broad platform support currently offered by Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) Handheld and OEP Outlook,
which deliver real-time and disconnected access to customer information in Onyx, to include this latest version of Microsoft's Pocket PC
platform.
"The speed and distance at which we do business is increasing everyday. This translates into a technology imperative to provide
anytime, anywhere access to business information, as well as the ability to immediately act on it," said Mary Reeder, vice president of
research and development for Onyx. "Pocket PC 2002 is an enterprise-class mobile device platform that I believe will enable Onyx to
meet the needs of business users who require device security, upgradeability, accessibility to corporate networks to run business
applications."
"Working strategically with the Pocket PC 2002 software, Onyx mobile solutions will deliver enterprise-class applications to our
customers running in both online and disconnected environments. Pocket PC 2002 software is a perfect match for Onyx mobile solutions
because together, the two technologies bring enterprise functionality to a handheld device."
Pocket PC 2002 is the next-generation software for personal digital assistants (PDAs) from Microsoft Corp. Pocket PC 2002 makes a
great mobile platform even better by delivering new functionality targeted to business users and corporations interested in deploying the
most secure, reliable and robust mobile solutions.
Using Onyx mobile solutions on the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 platform, companies can improve employee productivity, shorten sales
cycles, and enhance customer satisfaction. Mobile professionals can access and act upon key account information as it becomes available,
rather than waiting until they return to their offices -- all in an effort to delight and improve customers' experiences during every interaction.
"Pocket PC 2002 has a great advantage in the marketplace because it is designed to be the most connected and expandable PDA
available," said Chris Hill, product manager for the Mobility Division at Microsoft Corp. "We are pleased that Onyx is taking advantage of
the new feature functionalities of Pocket PC 2002 with its mobile solutions that will benefit users by providing quick customization and
scalable CRM in support of strategic objectives and emerging business opportunities."
