Automatos Introduces Wireless Monitoring Tool

CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct. 15, 2001--Automatos, Inc., announced today the launch of their Mobile Real Time Monitoring (RTM) Wizard, one of the first services on the market that lets users access their servers' vital resources from any location, at any time and with any Internet enabled device such as cellular phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs).

The Mobile RTM Wizard works in conjunction with our Virtual Systems Engineer product suite to give users the ability to monitor their servers and easily check the current levels of CPU, Memory, Disk I/O and Network I/O resources with any Internet enabled device.

The Mobile RTM Wizard operates by having users log into my.automatos.com or wap.automatos.com (for WAP enabled devices) and easily check the current consumption levels for their servers. Installation is equally as simple and easy. Users need only create an account at my.automatos.com and download and install the Automatos Server Agent on each server they wish to monitor. During account creation, customers designate a Mobile RTM User ID (a shorter version of the login, for input on WAP devices) and a Mobile RTM password.

"The dream of any system administrator is to be able to monitor and diagnose their servers no matter where they are," stated Andre Fonseca, General Manager, Automatos. "Now, with the help of our Mobile RTM Wizard, administrators will have the ability to do just that, and all they need is our agent and a WAP enabled cellular phone. This offering is unique in the marketplace because of the ease and quickness with which it can be deployed and used."

About the Virtual Systems Engineer

The AVSE product suite is a set of completely automated management services that allow the user to identify operating systems and application-related performance problems. To achieve this comprehensive automation, the services combine Automatos's revolutionary tools for performance analysis, capacity planning, real time monitoring, asset inventory/management, Oracle monitoring and SQL Server monitoring. Users can connect to the AVSE portal via the Internet (my.automatos.com), create an account, download the specific agent(s) and access the services needed to manage their server problems.

Availability

The Mobile RTM Wizard is available now via www.automatos.com, with a free 14-day test service available for download.

Automatos, Inc. is a private company headquarted in Cupertino, California. Automatos is focused on providing IT intelligence by providing remote monitoring and management solutions to corporate servers, desktops and other hardware in mission critical environments. Automatos has created a network management agent (downloaded from the Internet) that completely automates monitoring and reporting of servers (operating systems and databases) within networks of different sizes. Reports generated are equivalent to that of the highest-level systems engineers, written in a simple to understand way. These solutions dramatically reduce systems downtime and management issues, so IT staff can focus on more critical issues.
