fusionOne Announces Upgrade to Carrier-Class Internet Sync Technology
URL(s): www.fusionone.com
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 24, 2001--fusionOne, a pioneer and leader in mobility and synchronization software, today
announced an upgrade of its Internet Sync software, the engine behind data mobility services offered by wireless carriers. This upgrade
introduces over-the-air sync support for the tens of millions of mobile workers running Lotus Notes or Palm Desktop on their Windows-based
PCs and handheld devices. In addition, fusionOne has extended its Windows support to include Microsoft WindowsXP. With the new release
of fusionOne's Internet Sync technology, wireless service providers can realize a competitive advantage by enabling workers to access email
and personal information management applications anytime, anywhere.
fusionOne's sync technology empowers wireless carriers to decrease customer churn and recoup additional revenue by eliminating many
major pain points for customers, including the cumbersome chore of keying in information into the separate address books of their mobile
phones, handheld and desktop PCs. Available through wireless carriers and device manufacturers, fusionOne allows mobile workers to enter
information once on any computing or communications device with assurance that it will automatically be updated in all their other devices.
"This latest advancement of fusionOne's award-winning technology clearly illustrates our ongoing commitment to addressing our
customers' needs for access to critical data, regardless of application, from any device," said Rick Onyon, president and chief executive
officer of fusionOne. "With fusionOne, our carrier partners will be able to offer both individual and enterprise customers value-added data
mobility services that increase overall productivity by seamlessly sharing information among multiple platforms, devices, protocols and
applications, including Lotus Notes and Palm Desktop."
The fusionOne service supports devices running Windows 95 or later, Windows NT 4.0, WindowsXP, Palm OS Version 3.0 or later and
select mobile phones. In addition to Lotus Notes and Palm Desktop, fusionOne also supports traditional PIMs such as Microsoft Outlook,
Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, Lotus Organizer, and ACT! from Interact Commerce Corporation.
Availability and Pricing
fusionOne's upgraded service is available for carriers immediately. Pricing scales with the number of mobile users. Carriers interested in
learning more about fusionOne's data mobility offerings are encouraged to contact fusionOne at carriersolutions@fusionOne.com.
