NowSpeed Announces NowSpeed Mobile Office, the Secure, Enterprise-Class Mobile Office Software Solution for Mobile Browsers, PCs, Touch-Tone Phones, and PDAs

NowSpeed, Inc., the first mobile solutions company to offer secure, device-independent email access with attachments to corporate email
servers, today announced NowSpeed Mobile Office(TM), the fastest, least expensive and most complete mobile office gateway available.
This software suite provides remote and mobile access to email (with attachments), calendar, and contact information through a variety of
mobile browsers, touch-tone phones and PDAs. It is also uniquely architected for next generation mobile PDA/Phones that support voice,
browsing, sync and paging functionality. The server software provides a native interface to Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and 2000.
The software makes access to Personal Information Management (PIM) content (email, calendar and contacts) easy and affordable,
enabling organizations to increase responsiveness and productivity. With an enterprise server priced as low as $5 per user (one-time license
fee), the NowSpeed Mobile Office(TM) server sets a new standard in price/performance for mobile gateway servers. A free version of the

Remote Access for Everyone
"Since everyone has remote access to their voice mail, everyone should have remote access to email", said J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D.,
President and CEO of Mobile Insights, Inc. a Mountain View market research firm. "NowSpeed's new price model, coupled with the unique
way it utilizes low cost mobile devices and telephones, now makes it affordable for medium and large enterprises to deliver mobile access to
all their employees."
According to a February 2001 Gartner Group study, the average US employee spends 50 minutes per day managing their email. In
addition, the number of email messages sent is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 40% per year through 2004. Gartner
Group also projects that by 2004, senders will expect a one-hour response to email. "We designed the NowSpeed Mobile Office to be
affordable and easy to use so that an entire organization can experience the power of mobile access to time critical information", says David
Reske, NowSpeed CEO. "It's not just for senior management or the technology elite."
NowSpeed Mobile Office(TM) enables a higher level of responsiveness and productivity for remote and mobile users through synchronized
access to email (with attachments), calendar and contact information, utilizing a wide variety of mobile devices and browsers. All information
is synchronized with the user's corporate messaging server.
Fast and Secure Mobile/Remote PIM Gateway
Speed is a function of both access and an efficient user experience. Users want immediate access to PIM content and the ability to
manage it wherever they are. They also want to know that after they connect, they won't waste time by waiting for email to download or to
appear on their browsers. NowSpeed makes the remote access experience as fast as possible by using lightweight browsers, efficient
protocols, and automatic conversion of attachments to text when necessary.
"In tests, the NowSpeed browser performs twice as fast as Outlook Web Access from Microsoft when accessing email on a 28.8 modem.
If you're connecting through a slower CDPD modem at 12kbps, it can be 65% faster," says Rob Friedman, NowSpeed CTO. "Accessing
Microsoft Outlook Express from a PC or MAC on a 28.8 modem can also be 50% faster if you receive attachments."
NowSpeed supports a variety of secure authentication methods, including secure ID cards, which make mobile access as secure as LAN
access. The software also supports 128-bit encryption for browsing platforms and works with many firewall and VPN products.
Three Integrated Software Packages
NowSpeed Mobile Office(TM) is packaged as three integrated server software packages that deliver comprehensive functionality. These
servers can be used together or separately.
-- NowSpeed Mobile Office - Browse: Allows users to access and manage email (with attachments), calendar and contact data from PC,
Mac, WAP, Palm VII, Palm OS, Pocket PC, and RIM browsers. Lightweight browsers and attachment processing make the user experience
fast and efficient.
-- NowSpeed Mobile Office - Voice: Provides access and management of email (with attachments), calendar and contact data from any
touch-tone telephone. Email and attachments can be printed to any fax, or users can record a response, which is emailed to sender as a .wav
file.
-- NowSpeed Mobile Office -Sync: Provides access and management of email (with attachments) from Palm OS, Pocket PC, PC and
Mac email clients. Users can sync their email and use their PDAs or laptops offline for speed and convenience.
The NowSpeed Mobile Office(TM) server supports Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and 2000 servers and is available immediately. Future
releases planned for 2001 will extend support to Lotus Domino servers.
Pricing and Free Server Availability
NowSpeed is offering a free, 10-user version of its Mobile Office software. "This is not just evaluation server license that only works for
30 days, says Clyde Gillard, VP Sales. "This is real software that an organization can use as long as it wants. We want to provide an easy
way for companies to understand and appreciate the value of mobile technology as they consider rolling it out to their organization." Unlike
competitive servers that charge $4-$10 per user per month, NowSpeed's software can be purchased in quantity for as little as $5 per user
(one-time license fee). The free software can be upgraded in multiples of 50, 100, 250, and 500-5,000 users. The server software can be
downloaded at www.nowspeed.com. Upgrades can also be purchased directly on the Web site.
