SAN DIEGO, Oct. 30, 2001--The term "wireless future" is quickly entering the vocabulary, but how will the
increased use of wireless technology actually affect people's lives?
A new industry publication, Wireless Future Magazine(TM), will speculate on this future by focusing on new generations of wireless and
their impact on industries and society. The online publication, a new service from Wirelesslee(TM) Inc., is being announced this week at the
CDMA Americas Congress at the San Diego Convention Center.
Premiering in March 2002, sponsor-supported Wireless Future Magazine will offer industry and independent visions and
thought-provoking insights of the ever-changing wireless landscape.
With a target audience of wireless industry professionals, WFM will be a full-length publication (available at
www.wirelessfuturemagazine.com) that can be read online, printed in a printer-friendly format or downloaded. WFM also will offer content
of special interest to technologists, think-tanks and the mass media.
"New generations of wireless technology can dramatically change how people live and work," said WFM President and Editorial
Director Rikki Lee. "Wireless Future Magazine will be a unique, independent publication that dares to speculate on the ever-increasing role
of wireless in industries and society."
Wireless Future Magazine will discuss wireless technology and services that may become commercially available from three years in the
future to as far as can be imagined.
A partial list of anticipated technologies and services for the near- to long-term future includes Bluetooth, 3G, 4G, telematics, mobile
multimedia, location-based services, ultrawideband, intelligent transportation systems, software-defined radio, fixed wireless access,
microelectromechanical devices, broadband satellite services, unified messaging, wireless ID and biometrics, and ubiquitous coverage.
Feature articles, analysis, industry forecasts, opinions and other editorial in Wireless Future Magazine will describe the development of
possible network, service, device, software, component, content, connection, application and other scenarios available through current,
emerging and speculative technology.
Other content will include: "future vision" white papers from major technology companies; interviews with leading thinkers; debates on
important socio-technological issues; behind-the-scenes profiles of research labs and standards groups; "fearless predictions" and analyses
of wireless market sectors; "beta tests" of upcoming, possible and improbable devices; and much more.
Wireless Future Magazine is currently seeking charter subscribers for the March 2002 premiere issue. The first 5,000 who subscribe at
www.wirelessfuturemagazine.com will receive a password to download the first three issues free of charge.
