Ring in the Holiday Season With Personalized Ring Tones From AT&T Wireless Variety of Ring Tones to Suit Everyone's Musical Tastes

REDMOND, Wash., Nov 1, 2001 - Get ready for a new way to celebrate the fall and winter holidays with themed wireless ring tones that let customers enjoy a "Winter Wonderland" while they "Deck the Halls" this season. Recently introduced by AT&T Wireless, downloadable ring tones have expanded beyond popular rock or pop tunes to include songs suited for the upcoming holiday season.

"People are moving beyond the traditional pumpkin carving and tree decorating to find more ways to capture their holiday spirit," said Lisa Jo Wilson-Knight, vice president-marketing, AT&T Wireless. "Customized ring tones have joined colorful faceplates and phone cases as the newest way to accessorize and personalize a wireless phone."

Spirited Ring Tones

AT&T Wireless has a tune for every occasion this season. Well-known jingles such as "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" and the "Theme From the Adam's Family" are now available for Halloween.

Customers can also choose ring tones from traditional December holiday songs such as "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World" or the less formal "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Frosty the Snowman." (note: to hear these ring tones online, please visit http://www.attwireless.com/press ).

These seasonal tunes join hundreds of song snippets already available and can be downloaded to three Nokia phones -- the 8260, 5165 and the 3360. Downloadable ring tones usually range in price from 99 cents to $1.99 each and are billed to a credit card or a customer's wireless invoice. Sonera zed, Inc is the provider of AT&T Wireless Ring Tones and Graphics.

Also new this fall are ring tones from some top colleges and universities. Students, alumni, and fans can show their team spirit and download school fight songs to their Nokia phones. Among the choices: Texas A & M's "Aggie War Hymn" and the Yale's "Boola."

This week's top 10 ring tones from the AT&T Wireless web site are:

     Rank Title Artist
     1. Pink Panther Theme Henry Mancini

     3. Funky Town Lipps, Inc.
     4. Inspector Gadget TV Theme

Customers using Nokia 8260 handsets can further customize their wireless phones with downloadable graphics that flash on the screen when it rings. Available graphics include popular phrases, Greek letters, animals, travel symbols and zodiac signs.

Ring tones and graphics can be previewed and downloaded from http://www.attwireless.com/ringtones . Once a customer makes a selection, the ring tone and/or graphic is sent to the phone through the text messaging service.

AT&T Wireless #121 service lets you browse through a sample of popular ring tones using voice prompts. Just dial #1-2-1 from your wireless phone and say "ring tones" at the main menu prompt.
