VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, DECEMBER 13, 2001 - Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSE: SW) announced today that the Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 was honored with a Best of Show Award at Internet World Fall 2001 held in New York, NY. The Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 was recognized in the Communication and Collaboration category for its attention to always-on high-speed access and user power consumption.

"The Internet World Best of Show Awards are designed to recognize the exhibitors who are offering products and services that make systems run faster, bring more people in contact with each other, and connect people to their data wherever they may be," said John Zipperer, technology editor of Internet World magazine and head of the judging staff. "Sierra Wireless exemplified this with their product - the Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 - a clear winner chosen for its attention to always-on high-speed access and user power consumption."

The Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 wireless network card gives mobile users fast anytime, anywhere wireless access to the Internet, intranet, corporate applications and email. It offers reliable high-speed wireless access on the nationwide CDMA network at speeds up to 153 kbps. The design offers superior power management allowing users to work wirelessly for extended periods. End users may also add voice and messaging capabilities to their laptop or PDAs.

"We are delighted that the Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 won a Best of Show award at this year's Internet World Fall," stated Mark McMillan, Vice President Marketing. "Sierra Wireless' vision to deliver products with superior performance, reliability and support has been recognized. We consider this award to be a reflection of our success in delivering quality reliable products to our customers and partners."

The Best of Show Awards are distributed at Internet World Fall - viewed as the world's largest e-business and Internet technology event.
