MILPITAS, Calif., March 19, 2001--NetClue Corp., the leader in high performance embedded Java web browser solutions, announced today that its embedded Clue browser and WAP stack support the popular Jeode(TM) Embedded Virtual Machine(TM) (EVM(TM)) from Insignia Solutions(R) (Nasdaq:INSG), the leading provider of accelerated Java(TM) software solutions for Internet appliances and embedded devices. By combining NetClue's leading web browser and WAP stack with Insignia's accelerated Jeode technology, NetClue is providing Internet appliance and embedded device developers with a high performance end-to-end Java software solution. NetClue will work with Insignia to jointly market and promote the combined technologies.

The Clue browser is part of NetClue's innovative Java-based embedded software solution for web viewing. Compact, modular and platform independent, it is ideal as an embedded web browser for resource-constrained compact devices such as PDAs, set-top boxes and Internet access devices for the automotive market. With a core footprint of just under 500KB, Clue browser supports HTML 4.0, XML, HTTP 1.1, CSS, DOM, persistent cookies, memory and file caching, browsing history, JavaScript and Applets. Clue browser also offers other distinguishing features such as support for Unicode, smooth scrolling, streamline parsing and display, and customizable user-interface.

The Jeode platform is Insignia's accelerated software implementation of Sun Microsystems PersonalJava(TM) and EmbeddedJava(TM) specifications tailored for Internet appliances and embedded devices. It provides the underlying Java technology for NetClue's web browser, enabling portability across a wide variety of wireless devices and Internet appliances that employ numerous combinations of operating systems and processors.

"By supporting Jeode technology with our Clue browser and WAP stack, we can offer a high performance Java-compatible software platform to Internet appliance and embedded device manufacturers looking for industry standard Java solutions. We have found the Jeode platform to be a powerful Java-compatible virtual machine solution for resource-constrained devices," said Eva Low, vice president of NetClue Corp. "There's a tremendous amount of synergy between Insignia and Netclue. We have similar customers and complementary products. The Jeode platform allows us to target our users regardless of the operating system and processor that they are using."

"NetClue provides a small footprint, high performance Java browser and WAP stack that can be offered in combination with our Jeode technology to bring a comprehensive Java software solution to wireless and Internet appliance manufacturers," said Ron Workman, senior vice president of Insignia Solutions.

NetClue Corp. develops and markets Java-based embedded software that empowers OEMs and device vendors with elegant and intelligent solutions for Internet enabled devices. The solution suite includes a Java-based Clue browser, File Viewer, WAP compliant technology and the WebCore solution for wireless applications. These software applications can be applied to a wide variety of Internet appliances, including smart phones, set-top boxes, screenphones and handheld devices.
