Paradigm Unveils Its L-Biz V3.2.1 Carrier-class Solution for Immediate Deployment On Compaq Alpha Platforms

URL(s): Paradigm Advanced Technologies

TORONTO, March 19, 2001-- Paradigm and Compaq Will Jointly Display PowerLOC's L-Biz(TM) Mobile Commerce Platform At The CTIA Wireless 2001, March 20-22 in Las Vegas

Paradigm Advanced Technologies Inc. (OTC BB: PRAV) (www.powerloc.com), a provider of wireless location electronic commerce (L-commerce) enabling technologies, announced that it has completed the migration of its L-Biz(TM) Tracker software onto Compaq's mission-critical Alpha Systems.

PowerLOC ported and certified its L-BIZ(TM) software on Alpha, and the first location service provider (LSP) system become operational after a seamless integration process.

Paradigm's proprietary L-BIZ(TM) mobile commerce and location tracking system enables companies to manage vehicle fleets, people, and to monitor valuable property among other applications. The Tracker is a carrier-grade server that leverages the use of the company's rights to US Patent #B1 5,043,736 related to GPS technology. It includes mapping, database, security, communications, location, billing and other engines, which in conjunction with Compaq's Alpha platform enable LSPs to provide high-performance and scalable location sensitive services to their end-users.

The company also announced that its L-Biz system and other PowerLOC products and wireless location devices will be displayed in Compaq's pavilion (#2213) at the CTIA Wireless 2001 show, March 20-22 in the Sands Expo & Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. PowerLOC's technology will be also featured at the Navigation Technologies Inc. (NavTech) booth #3573 at the same show. The CTIA Wireless 2001 show is the largest wireless trade show in North America.

Eduardo Guendelman, president and CEO of Paradigm, said, "We have worked very closely with Compaq to demonstrate the capabilities of our L-Biz(TM) location tracking system and to validate the interest by major service providers in this solution. The CTIA show is an excellent opportunity to expose our technologies to the top decision makers in the wireless industry."

Headquartered in Toronto, Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc. (www.powerloc.com) provides wireless location-based electronic commerce (L-Commerce) solutions. Paradigm owns the exclusive licensing rights to a broad-based wireless location patent (US Patent #B1 5,043,736) covering the apparatus and method of transmitting position information from satellite navigational signals (like GPS) over cellular systems to a base unit, and displaying the location of a person or object so equipped. Paradigm's ownership covers all fields of use for the patented system, excluding criminal justice applications. Paradigm wholly owns PowerLOC Technologies Inc. and Power Point Micro Systems Corporation. PowerLOC anticipates providing a comprehensive range of L-Commerce and L-Business products and services including a family of proprietary wireless-location devices for this emerging industry and for location-based service providers (LSPs) in particular. In February 2001, Paradigm acquired all of the assets of NaftEL Technologies, Ltd. of Israel (www.nafteltech.com), a company that developed navigation system software, enabling detailed street maps to be viewed on devices with limited on-board memory. This advanced technology also provides graphic or voice commands on portable computers, hand held devices and cellular phones to enable dynamic navigation for persons and vehicles.
