SAN MATEO, Calif., March 19, 2000--AvantGo, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVGO), the leading provider of mobile infrastructure and software, today announced that its award-winning mobile Internet software is bundled with the Palm m500 and m505 devices launched today by Palm, Inc. throughout North America and Europe. Users of the new Palm handheld computers will be able to surf any website or access over 1000 websites that have been optimized for mobile devices' small screens, including news, sports, finance, entertainment, business, travel and much more.

The new Palm m500 and m505 follow on the recent launch of the m105 organizer and are similar in style to the extremely popular Palm V series, but are now lighter, have improved functionality from the Palm OS(R) 4 and are expandable through the SD (Secure Digital) slot. The m505 is the smallest and lightest color handheld on the market, and the high-contrast color display offering enhanced functionality for games, viewing video clips, digital images and Internet content.

With the AvantGo mobile Internet service, users get seamless transitions between online and offline connection modes. This means that Palm users can use the AvantGo service wirelessly when they need real-time information such as stock quotes, flight information or directions, or use AvantGo when synchronizing with a desktop PC, where they can use the service anywhere, and access daily news articles and other content which may not be so time-specific.

Mike Aufricht, general manager of AvantGo Mobile Internet, commented: "By bundling our mobile Internet service with the latest Palm organizers, we are ensuring that users get the richest experience from these devices, and that they are maximizing the devices' functionality."

The bundling of AvantGo also makes mobile devices increasingly compelling for broad deployment throughout large corporations. By simply entering a username and password for an AvantGo M-Business Server, mobile professionals and field employees are able to quickly tap into their critical business applications. AvantGo M-Business Server automatically delivers appropriate content and applications to authorized individuals without involving IT staff.

AvantGo software is now bundled with the Palm IIIxe, Palm IIIc, Palm Vx, Palm m100, Palm m105, Palm m500, Palm m505, and the limited edition Palm Vx handhelds.

For existing Palm users, the AvantGo mobile Internet service is available as a free download from www.avantgo.com. For more information on the new Palm m500 series, please visit www.palm.com.
