Lutris Accelerates Wireless Internet Application Deployment

LAS VEGAS, March 20, 2001--CTIA WIRELESS 2001--Lutris Technologies Inc., a leading provider of application server technology for wired and wireless development and deployment, today announced new targeted wireless consulting services, new heterogeneous wireless client platform support, and new enterprise hardware certifications for the Lutris Enhydra Java/XML application server. With these consulting, training and product offerings, Lutris customers and ISV partners enjoy a clear advantage in wireless application development. Lutris continues to deliver on the promise of Enhydra: an open platform that allows one application to easily talk to any device over any protocol.

"Our customers and partners are tired of duplicating applications in order to provide wired and wireless access to their users," said Yancy Lind, CEO of Lutris. "They're looking for the simplicity of a single, supportable application. They want the flexibility to target any of their users' device types, from HTML to WAP to i-mode to PDAs. With no proprietary languages or vendor lock-in, Lutris Enhydra and our services provide customers with an easy to use and entirely portable application Internet infrastructure."

Lutris Targeted Services for Wireless, Architecture and Performance

A comprehensive suite of services aimed at helping customers streamline their Web site and custom Web application developments is now available from Lutris. Lutris Targeted Services allow customers to purchase only the type and amount of service they need to augment or validate their existing Web or wireless application development efforts. Lutris Targeted Services (Wireless Planning, Enhydra Application Architecture Assessment and Enhydra Application Performance Assessment) include a two-day executive planning session on developing wireless Web applications, as well as architectural and performance assessments for applications built with the Enhydra application server. Lutris will soon offer other Targeted Services that derive from its core expertise in the planning, development and full life cycle management of Enhydra-based Web applications. These will include branding, graphic design, usability analysis and platform migration services.

In order to more fully support both the emerging Sun Java 2 Micro-Edition(TM) (J2ME) and Microsoft .NET wireless devices and appliances, Lutris Enhydra 3.5 has expanded support for wireless application development by integrating the Sun Microsystems' J2ME Toolkit, XML extensions for Flash 5.0 on Palm, WinCE, and other devices, and new certifications of the VoiceXML development suites from Nuance and IBM.
