SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 26, 2001--PC Forum 2001
Initiative affirms Verb's mission to offer superior
`find' functionality for all business platforms
Verb, Inc., a provider of smart navigation software, today announced a cooperative marketing and development
alliance with ShopTalk Networks(SM), a leading provider of enterprise software for web-integrated voice applications.
Under the terms of the agreement, Verb will supply ShopTalk Networks with its contextual search and
preference-driven navigation technology, enabling users of voice-enabled business applications to more efficiently find
the products or information they seek. The combined solution delivers the speech industry's most advanced voice
search capability.
Verb's software provides ShopTalk Networks with a solution that enables declarative, preference-driven navigation.
Presented with an example, users can say "more like this" or "less like that" along a line of specific parameters and the
voice-operated system will intuitively navigate the user to the most relevant choice. The relationship between Verb and
ShopTalk Networks will drive the adoption of cost-saving, next-generation, voice-enabled applications and
speech-enabled telephone interfaces for customer interactions. The alliance is timely as e-channels and enterprises are
turning to voice applications to drive revenue and reduce costs.
"By partnering with Verb, ShopTalk Networks continues our initiative to provide our clients the most advanced
enterprise voice technologies available," said Eric Linn, executive vice president and co-founder, ShopTalk Networks.
"Our goal is to provide our clients a voice-enabled technology that makes automated information delivery and
transaction interaction as simple as having a conversation. With Verb's smart navigation, we now offer state-of-the-art
speech `find'capabilities that deliver on that vision."
"Our partnership with ShopTalk Networks affirms our vision of being the `find' not `search' solution on all business
platforms," said Eileen Gittins, co-founder, president and CEO of Verb. "Verb and ShopTalk Networks will give
companies the means to offer their audiences smart, engaging, voice-enabled applications that really help people serve
themselves - significantly enhancing productivity and profitability."
ShopTalk Networks develops platform independent VoiceXML-based software and applications that provide a
speech-enabled telephone interface for IVR, customer care, Customer Relationship Management and other enterprise
applications. Leading enterprise clients, including Jiffy Lube International, use ShopTalk Networks to cut customer
communications costs and enhance customer relationships. With breakthrough technology and industry-leading
experience, ShopTalk Networks has built feature-rich, scalable applications that can be rapidly deployed. The use of
VoiceXML leverages clients' existing web infrastructure to integrate existing databases and business applications with
ShopTalk Networks. ShopTalk Networks offers companies true voice-enabled technology that makes automated
information delivery and transaction interaction as simple as having a conversation. ShopTalk Networks is
headquartered in Chicago, IL. For more information visit www.shoptalknetworks.com
