BadBlue Provides WISP with Wireless Peer-to-Peer Software
Atlanta GA, March 28, 2001 - Working Resources, Inc., the premier provider
of web-based peer-to-peer technology, today announced a partnership
agreement with WISP Incorporated, a leading wireless solutions firm, to
provide BadBlue technology to WISP customers. Under the terms of the
agreement, WISP will license BadBlue technology, which will power its new
zShare P2P offering.
zShare is a tiny, full-fledged web server that can be utilized for
application serving, P2P file sharing, and data transcoding purposes.
Applicable to a wide range of mobile and wireless applications, zShare
allows browser-based access to Excel spreadsheets and Word documents as well
as conventional files of all types. Its ability to serve live office data as
HTML enables zShare to address demanding markets such as Sales Force
Automation, Field Service, and Shipping/Logistics. These applications demand
real-time access to data in the field, which can yield impressive
improvements in business processes and better supply-chain management.
zShare is based upon Working Resource's BadBlue Enterprise Edition. BadBlue
is one of the smallest Windows-compatible web servers ever developed,
supporting advanced features such as P2P searching/sharing, NT security
integration, CLF logging, IP restrictions in a core server that takes up
about 75Kb of disk space. BadBlue also integrates support of PHP, ISAPI and
CGI. With such a tiny deployed size, BadBlue can be used in a variety of
applications including mobile, disconnected/semi-connected, P2P, and a
variety of vertical markets.
Percy Bhathena, Chief Executive Officer of WISP, said, "Our partnership with
Working Resources demonstrates our commitment to offer integrated solutions
to our customers who expect productivity solutions that are powerful,
leading-edge, and most importantly, easy to use. BadBlue provides zShare
customers with an extremely simple way to perform peer-to-peer sharing and
to serve data in a platform built for both wireless and mobile applications.
"
"We are pleased that WISP selected BadBlue as a key member of their wireless
offerings," said Brandt Ross, Chief Executive Officer of Working Resources.
"BadBlue capitalizes on its simplicity, small size, and flexibility giving
WISP a distinct advantage in this competitive market through the delivery of
enhanced peer-to-peer file sharing and similar mobile capabilities. We feel
that search-enabled web servers have true advantages in the wireless P2P
space."
