Leaders in Mobile Location-Based Voice/WAP Infrastructure and Content Provision Team Up to Deliver New Services to Wireless Users

Vancouver, BC, April 2, 2001 – ViaVis Mobile Solutions Inc., a software
infrastructure company that focuses on advanced wireless location and
communications solutions, today announces the signing of a Joint
Offerings Agreement with IT Network, a subsidiary of Source Media Inc.
(Nasdaq: SRCM) that develops and licenses private label text and voice
content. The joint offering is intended to provide current and
potential customers with new innovative services to bring location-based
information on products and services to consumers’ phones and
WAP-enabled devices.
The Agreement specifies that IT Network and ViaVis will create joint
services solutions that will put IT Network’s content on ViaVis’
location-based voice/WAP software platform to allow carriers,
enterprises and portals to bring locationally aware content services to
their customers.
“Our goal is to provide a practical leading-edge solution to our
customers,” says Scott Bennett, Senior Vice President of Sales from IT
Network. “We bring the private label content that voice services need
and ViaVis brings the leading-edge technology that will allow our mutual
customers to benefit from new revenue-streams.”
In addition to services that will increase minutes of use and customer
loyalty for wireless operators and voice portals, the new services offer
further revenue-generating applications. Proximity MarketingTM, a
location-based advertising medium, preferred presentation, keyword sales
and sponsor messages are functions that can be built into the main
service to generate revenues that are not considered intrusive by the
end-user.
“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement and look forward to
working with IT Network to bring new and innovative solutions to our
clients,” says Barry Felker, VP of strategic development at ViaVis
Mobile Solutions.
