XandMail Revolutionizes E-Mail Interface Design with the Introduction of XandMail Interface Designer

PARIS --
XandMail Interface Designer(TM) (XiD(TM)) Allows Instantaneous Design and Modification of
E-Mail Interface by Administrators and End Users
XandMail, a global supplier of carrier-class 3G messaging solutions with an installed base of
30 million licenses worldwide, announces the availability of XandMail XiD.
XiD is an e-mail interface designer and editor powerful enough for systems administrators, yet
intuitive enough for the end-user. XiD operates as a component of XUbiMail(TM), using
cutting-edge light Java applet technology to deliver the native flexibility of XUbiMail in a purely
graphical interface.
The range of customization offered by XiD is complete. Interface features are represented as
graphical objects that may be dragged to any location, even if the component is dynamic (such
as the message counter). Graphics may be added and positioned on the interface - your
company logo or a picture from your last vacation could greet you on your inbox interface. A
professional color palette is also included, capable of modifying the color of any object or
background in the interface. Similarly, text objects may be added and modified.
"The power and originality of XiD with XUbiMail opens enormous possibilities to mail hosts
and user community organizers. XiD will allow new user communities to rapidly develop around
the interface of their choice, featuring any theme and any subject. An opportunity such as this will
be quickly exploited by the larger marketing agencies," says Xavier Cournault, XandMail's CEO
and co-founder.
XiD is configurable for use by both system administrators and end users. System
administrators may specify a public version of XiD configured to prevent usage that may be
harmful or undesirable to the system, while retaining an unlimited version for administrative work.
This flexibility results from the light-Java technology used to create XiD, which provides a
comprehensive range of design and modification options without the need to manually enter
HTML code. Interface design and modification happens faster and more efficiently, without
compromising XUbiMail performance.
XiD is a seamless extension of XUbiMail. While the XUbiMail mail client resides on a server,
XiD resides on the user's terminal so that it does not impact the performance of the mail-client
itself. This technology presents the best of both worlds - powerful, yet lightweight.
Ky-Ming Jen, CTO and co-founder of XandMail: "Our choice of technology allocates the
additional processing requirements to the user's terminal, in order to not influence the
performance of XUbiMail. Only Java offered us such an opportunity, while preserving total
flexibility for further evolution."
"With the option of XiD HTML manipulation and personalization, XandMail continues to
pursue its policy of product diversity. This ensures user fidelity, and generates additional traffic
for our large Telco, ISP, and Portal clients," adds Dominique Rigolet, Senior VP and Member of
the Board of Directors.
